Matthew Findlay (Matt)
Director
Growing up in rural Cambridge in a large family, Matt’s vision for the business started years ago and has always been inspired by the hardworking values instilled in him by his family and mentors. With over 20 years’ experience in both New Zealand and Australia, Matt set up Finz Carpentry Limited in 2017. Since its inception, Matt’s vision for Finz Carpentry has been to build a fun and family-first team culture, with exceptional attention to quality and detail.
When he’s not leading the team onsite or spending time with his family, Matt dreams of golfing and surfing.
Jessica Cogswell (Jess)
Business Manager
With a background in Procurement, Matt’s sister, Jess brings a unique perspective and skill set to the team. Investment in the family business means she has an equally strong vision for Finz Carpentry and what they deliver to clients. This strong family partnership brings ease in communication and friendly guidance throughout the building process.
Jess is a keen Hautapu Sports supporter and can be found either cheering from the sidelines for her two girls at netball, or enjoying a glass of wine with friends.
Joshua Hill (Joshy)
Leading Hand
Joshy completed his building apprenticeship with the New Zealand Army, earning top of class to gain his Certificate in Carpentry. In joining the Finz Team as Leading Hand Joshy has brought with him a wealth of experience and the tools required to lead the team.
Once the man who inspired the movie Rambo, Joshy now spends more time watching his boys play Rugby with his partner, than slinging a rifle.
Jamie Fisher (Fish)
Qualified Carpenter
Fish is an integral part of the Finz Carpentry team with a strong skill-set and a positive attitude to take on any challenges our unique builds have to offer. Having also served in the New Zealand army Fish is dependable, adaptable and easy to get on with.
Fish is happily building a life with his fiance in Hamilton. He is always keen for a beer and a laugh, and can often be found in karaoke battles with his missus.
Stuart McGuire (Stu)
Apprentice Carpenter
After an earlier career in retail and telecommunications management, Stu has found a place in the Finz team to work towards his long-aspired-to career in Carpentry. Stu brings an extensive skill set, is a strong problem solver and a hardworking team player who can be relied upon to get the job done.
A good keen indoorsman, Stu loves an online battle and long walks on the beach with his dog, Boomer.
